Hi Turtle, Congratulations for having this realization -- wow, you really hit home for me as you described your reaction. Yes, what we have done to our cores has taken away our center, our power. There are so many ways to get it back!

Emily recommends Qi Gong abdominal massage.

I've always wanted to try Maya abdominal massage, which you can have done by a practitioner or learn to do yourself. It's been done for ages by Mayan women to correct all kinds of abdominal issues.

Sheila likes yoga and Chi Nei Tsang (CNT), which I think sounds really interesting as well -- I plan to look into it.

Yoga and pilates are wonderful ways to strengthen and start feeling your core.

Meditation and yogic breathing are also very helpful -- I especially like Kapalabhati, which you can read about in this post.

Turtle, the fact that you are aware of this means whatever solutions you start to look at will do wonders. Awareness is always the first step to solutions!

With love,
Heather

It’s interesting that this core, this abdomen area, is the center of our energy – and is required for balance.
Wow, this one comment really hit me in my center!
Thank you so very much for this share about Sheila...it really touched me is so many ways and spoke to that heart and center place rather than my mind. I had not really thought of that abdomenal area as my center, but, of course, it is. I feel tears as I recall how much I have hurt my center and how much I have abused my center...one form of the abuse is hating that core and center. My core and center is swollen, hard, bloated, in pain...I can not remember the last time it was flat. I hold a lot of fear there. As having chronic constipation,
I know I am not only holding on to teces, but, other old pain, ideas, fears, beliefs....etc.

After having a chiropracator touch me at my core at least ten years ago and having such a
reaction, I knew there was something there, I have wanted to find a kind of body work that would help me to release in that area, but, never found a practioner. Is there some kind of work that does do relase work on that area. The reaction I had with the chiropractor was internal because I held myself back from opening my mouth. I know that if I had let myself go..
I would probably have sounded more like a wounded animal than a human beinig. I would like to know how I can work on that area of my body. Reading this article has touched me so deeply, I can not say I am in touch with it all.
Thank you once again Heather, this is all such a gift!!!!

Hi Yolanda, Heather here -- thank you for your note. Sheila may not get your comment here because she may not be monitoring my blog comments. You can write her at: info@sheilashea.com. I agree with you that Sheila is a beautiful person and role model!

In the meantime, if you would like to get colon hydrotherapy, here is the information for an IACT certified colon hydrotherapist in Tallahassee:

Carlos A. Ayala
AYALA INTERNATIONAL CORP.
1989 Capital Circle NE, Suite 10
Tallahasee, FL 32308
USA
Phone: 850-671-5400
Email: ayalac@bellsouth.net
Cert. Level: Instructor Level
National Board Certification: yes

You can go to the IACT website to find referrals, although Carlos is the only one I could find in your area: http://www.i-act.org/iactsearch.htm

You may also consider contacting Sheila's sister, Cathy Shea, who is also an experienced colon hydrotherapist in Juno Beach, FL. Several people in Florida have graduated from her colon hydrotherapy school: http://www.cathysheaschool.com/graduates.asp
Contact info: US Toll-Free: 1.800.717.7432

Good luck! I have had my 6th colonic and I'm feeling better than ever -- I highly recommend it!

With love,
Heather

Hi Sheila Shea,
My name is Yolande Jackson, I have been interested in colon therapy for some time now and I would like to know how I can take advantage of this wonderful cleasning process.
I'm a 27 year old black female, and was a vegetarian for five years from the age I was 19-about 25. I went so far as to become a vegan, and due to the cost I was not able to keep up the diet; and maintain a BMI that was not considered anorexic. I think you are beautiful and want you to know that you are a role model for me. I have done some searches but can not find a clinic in Tallahassee; travel to Arizona is not likely, because of the distance. I believe I read there was a clinic in Miami can you send me info. on this place.

Just wanted to say that I feel exactly the way Emily does about checking in with various uplifting blogs every day, and want to thank all of you who are sharing so openly and reaching out to each other through your blogs. Unfortunately I only have internet access at work and not at home, and don't think it's appropriate to be using my work computer or time to maintain a personal blog; otherwise I'd be joining the rest of you in posting about my own journey and sharing what nourishes me on my own blog. I look forward to continuing reading your inspiring stories!

With love,

Maya

Best wishes
